Mastering the Art of Persuasion

The ability to drive people to accomplish certain goals at the workplace is regarded as one of the pre-requisites of being a good leader or an effective manager. In fact, the need to influence people has become essential in almost every walk of life.

Contrary to what many believe, inspiring people is not a unique super-power; moreover, a person does not require a formal title to motivate others. Persuading people is an art that can be mastered by anyone, regardless of age, experience, education, etc. Given below are a few key ways for enhancing influencing skills –

  1. Stay Relevant: People have the tendency to respect, follow, and even emulate those who are the final word or the experts in their fields. The most effective influencers are therefore always up to date with the latest developments in their industries. They show a keen awareness of upcoming changes as well as futuristic trends and are among the first to adapt to the dynamic times, in terms of gaining additional knowledge, skills and attributes. Good influencers not only embrace and drive change, but also lead it.
